Our Laboratory

Some of the facilities available in our laboratory in the Joseph Black Building:

Synthetic fume cupboard with Schlenk line, regular heater stirrer plates and high temperature mantles for molecule and nanoparticle synthesis

Horiba Duetta-Bio Fluorescence and Absorbance spectrometer with fast CCD detector, temperature control, in-situ reaction capabilities, thin film and powder attachments.

Tecan Spark Absorbance and Luminescence Plate Reader with monochromators, temperature control, TR-FRET capabilities etc. Auto-injectors, combi-optics and plate robotics planned for future upgrades!

Dual wavelength UV lamp

Buchi semi-automatic Rotavap with chiller

Accurate balance and pipettes, including 12 channel electronic pipettes.

Drying oven

Temperature controlled centrifuge with 50 mL and microtube rotors
